The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an open world action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fifth main installment in The Elder Scrolls series, following The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 11, 2011.

The game's main story revolves around the player character and their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. The videogame is set two hundred years after the events of Oblivion, and takes place in the fictional province of Skyrim. Over the course of the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills. The game continues the open world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time, and to ignore or postpone the main storyline indefinitely.

I know that most people probably don't care about this very much but to me aesthetic is a very important part of role-playing. The character creation in Oblivion might have allow you do done some ridiculous things but at least it allowed you to create an unique and distinctive character. That's why I found character's creation in Skyrim rather lacking. I felt like it was streamlined to a point when all of the characters you could make looked kind of the same. That's why I would add to your list two more mods: RaceMenu and ApachiiSkyHair.

  • Axmix - 0

Its almost like the modders put more effort in than the actual dev's

"-and the Power, Shadowstep, which allows you to instantly teleport behind a target a short distance away."[teleports behind u]nothing personnel...kid

  • vantarinitel

I love the 5th and 1st mod. I've got an Argonian...liar, basically. To the public, she's a nice little urban Alteration Noncombatant mage, nice to everyone, doesn't speak their language well, quiet nice nobody. Who also runs Thieves Guild, steals everybody's cheese and garlic, runs the Dark Brotherhood and 1shots dragons with Merunes Dagon's razor.---"Did you hear about the Emperor? Dark time indeed" says the Guard. "Yes is terrifying-able! Solitude is no-safe!!" says the nice Argonian Alteration Mage that killed the emperor."The Thieves Guild is back in Solitude!" says the guard."Yes they estole my cheese!" says the Argonian with 44 cheese wheels in her inventory.

The main problem with roleplaying in Skyrim (from my six years of experience playing and modding that game) it's not that you can't do it, but that there's no consequence for doing it. The vanilla game is so lackluster in the RPG departament that no matter the amount of mods you add, if you actually expect to make an impact to the world of Skyrim... you just can't. And if that's what you're looking for then no matter what you do, you're not gonna get that, because that's just not how the game is built. So your "roleplaying experience" is for you alone and it's determined by the "plot" you want to give to your character. For example, I started a playthrough as a vampire lord that isn't the dragonborn, and I'm going around with an entourage of four other vampire lords (followers I've turned into vampire lords) trying to change everyone in Skyrim into vampires, specially the important npcs. Because my character is a power hungry vampire lord wood elf, and that's what she would do. Now... am I making an impact into the world? Of course not. No one is treating me differently. Some guards and other npcs may say things like "Those eyes are scary" or "you're creepy as fuck woman!" and many npcs that I've turned into vampires are now going around biting other npcs whenever they get hungry (without calling the attention to the guards though) but other than that... nothing has changed, I know nothing ever will. Like... there's never going to be a branch of Dawnguard or Vigilant members who will ambush me (and I don't mean the usual patrol, I mean that they're not going to see me as the biggest threat ever and act in consequence), no one in any of the cities is ever going to see me as a threat unless they see me eating someone, the empire is never going to notice what I've been doing in Skyrim so they're never going to blacklist me and send someone to kill me and if I decide to join them in the Civil War NOW (now that I've turned almost every Jarl and rich and powerfull person in Skyrim into vampires) I still can, and if I decdied to start the main quest, I'll end up becoming "the hero of Skyrim" (even though I've basically cursed the majority of the population) no matter whatAnd don't get me wrong, I'm having a blast playing that way. To me it's the only good way of playing Skyrim. But since it wasn't built to be played that way, just don't expect for the game to have lasting consequence.

  • Jay Tea Gastation

I know most of you aren't affected by this. But can we as a community come together and boycott Sony until they stop restricting all the mods on ps4? It's just unfair.

  • SpeedrunsTeddy

You forgot the most important mod in all of skyrim. Inigo

  • Galimeer5

Ordinator is a lot like Immersive Armors: a popular mod with an insane amount of content that's mostly unused resulting in a cluttered and messy game.

  • Spartan Q77

Even with these mods Skyrim isn't a true rpg. For that it needs choices and consequences. Different play styles would need to matter to the world. Your allocated skills should dictate which faction is easily joined. A warrior shouldn't be approved by a thieves guild member. He shouldn't give a rat ass about you. You should have a fame and infamy status. That would determine how npcs see you as. A warrior past lv10 shouldn't be called a milk drinkeer. Lv20 above should fast tracked your progress in the Companions. That is if it was an actual quest line. Failing Brynolf test should make it far harder to join him. A game that proclaims to be an rpg lack rpg assets. Bethesda should just make a action ip if they want to go that route. The Elder Scrolls and Fallout should be actual rpgs. Elder Scrolls needs to bring the rpg back in what's supposed to be a rpg series.

  • Gamin' Reasons

Personally I don't use Ordinator. I've tried it but it's a bit overwhelming for me. It's a quality mod don't get me wrong it has a ridiculous amount of great features. The thing is it's a bit TOO much (for me at least). I love just about all of Enai's other mods like Apocalypse and Sancrosanct.

  • Herobrinesshadow

i think u also need craftable lockpicks , because if there are lockpicks all around why you cant smith them?

  • Alibaba

You know it's pretty damn sad when you have to install mods that improve Role Playing in a game that was supposed to be an RPG.

  • First Last

I really hope Bethesda takes notes from these mods when making ES6. You dont have to sacrifice action for a great RPG game.

  • Soulless Starfish

“Put the rpg back in the role playing game” -fudgemuppet

  • Ethan Harris

Hey fudgemuppit, I was wondering if you could do a must have mod list for PlayStation plebs like me. That would be great!

  • Kosh800

I've been wanting to play again, but didn't want to just do the same things I always did over and over. So I found this, and I'm getting all of them! This should give me even more time wasting potential so I don't have to deal with real life. Thanks!

  • Sene Senethril

oops sorry i though transforming an rpg is more like a mmo-rpg so maybe the little piece that come just after skyrim together is this mod : surrounding weapons and rings AT nexus 88826

  • RKBock

soo basically you want mods that give you overpowered abilities and more options...just fyi: some of the best RPGs that I played didn't have half the possibilities that skyrim has. they were still better rpgs than skyrim. why? because the reaction of the npcs seemed more natural. because you were actually immersed into the characters and not the view or the vastness of the world. their main focus wasn't to mod it into oblivion or explore all the mods people can come up with. it wasn't even to make your own character. it was to explore your character and the other people inside this world. similar to role playing games in the bedroom, the focus should not be to express yourself, but rather to immerse yourself into a new role.

  • Pyroteq

5 essential mods to make a game that is piss easy even more piss easy. Watch how immersive these mods are while I stand still while half a dozen dudes attack me and do zero damage while I insta-kill them.Yeah, nah.

  • Grand General Chaotik

As someone who cheats every perk, ordinator can be a nightmare

  • Haliax

Perk overhaul mods are actually so aids. They force you into a strict, non liquid class system and give you terrible returns on any investments you make. "Your spells do 10% more damage, but one handed attacks do 200% less damage" Ok bimbo, got any other helps for me?

  • Amaras

ive been so burnt out on skyrim even though its my hands down favorite game, and finding this video has actually made me want to play it again

  • Charlie Kingston

Do all of these mods work on Xbox One?

  • Vinnie

1:28 I used to be an adventurer like you till I took an arrow in the knee

  • Mark Cunningham

you shoulda called this vid " 4 mods by EnaiSiaion and 1 other "

  • noct RK

Vanilla perks may be boring, but atleast they are fuctional. Most of Ordinator perks are useless (like hit an enemy with the sword to reduce his attack by 10% for 5 sec, really?), some are overpowered and few are quite enjoyable like Dwemer Turret. More perks doesn't mean better.

  • Stephen Southard

Hey I noticed that some of these aren't on PlayStation. Could you tell me what mods on ps that accomplish a similar goal?

  • Yiglic Persfactious

Alternate Start is a must period. Just testing if your build works is so much easier!

  • Bootleg god

That last magic one looks amazing...I’m on PS4...pray for me

  • Billy Carter

I wish there was a mod for outfit recognition. Guards will acknowledge you are wearing azura's star or carrying the mace of molag bal. So why not recognizing you are wearing stormcloak, imperial, thief, wolf, nightingale, mage robes... etc?

  • ZackalTheJackal

*Starts dosing off..... “fingers of the mountain” instantly alert again*Oh don’t get me started the mages quest line was the most bs...you get the idea

  • that guy

does Imperious – Races of Skyrim- also affect NPC's, including letting them use the passive powers? I currently have no other use for the mod since I am using a modded Falmer character on my current playthrough

  • Rynosaur94

I get that Requiem isn't for everyone, but due to the focus of this Video on RPG elements... well not giving it a mention is a SEVERE miss.

  • Ömer Meydan

Now wait for them to be sold under new names on the Creation Club.

Aurora: Standing Stones of Skyrim works with Xbox One!!!! yayya

  • The Reprehensible

  • Jesus in Skyrim

Nice mods. I used them at some point... But the main problem I have with offline games is stupid enemy leveling systems. The only reasonable system for me would be time-dependent leveling, when enemies become stronger with time spent in game.

  • Lucas Franco

    So... Basically play Enairim?

  • robert f

Cannot recommend the live another life mod enough. Even if you don't want to RP, just to skip the naseating intro to the game makes it one of the top mods available.

  • Andrew DeBear

the problem with ordinator overhaul is it doesn't have the perk in heavy armor that makes your unarmed damage higher

What about the steed stone. Armor weighs nothing and doesn't slow you down. Great for heavy Armor character's. Great for thiefs gives you extra carry weight. Great for pretty much any rpg character in skyrim

  • A WIGG

I thought it said “mods you nerd”

  • James Daly

2:19 Oh I thought it was just fast travel

  • Grohk The Sexy Snowman

Modders should go to heaven. I'd pay them but im not spending a single cent to Bethesda's "cReAtIOn cLUb"

  • olo

But with that many perks. How do u get a decent amount without being level 284 or something.

  • Abc123 Xyz8910

I dont use these because it will make you so op

  • AardvarkGaming

How about a ps4 version as we are more limited to things like this but great video anyway. Like if you agree

  • zerfyx

Funny how almost all of the mods were made by the same guy.

  • 1234wowww

First RPG mod on the list is the rocket propelled grenade modThis mod will literally put an RPG into skyrim allowing you to role play as a time traveler and a soldier Most importantly you will be able to watch your enemies flee as you rain down fiery explosive death upon them

  • Sergeant Raine ♠

Sorry for asking but I can't seem to find it, what's the blood mod used in your videos?

  • sonicj Polygon

    u forgot phenderix spells

  • Jesse Chavez

nope the necromancer stone is the best hands down! >w< all corpses in the area become revenants!

  • Michael Wells

Are any of these available on PS4?

  • paranidherc

Ordinator just makes every perk overpowered, turning the game from easy to piss easy.

  • Choppytehbear1337

I really want to try ordinator, but I need SkyRe.

  • MLaak86

Between these and the Beyond Skyrim stuff, I'm gonna need a PC aren't I?

  • Jeffrey Kirkley

    Spellmaking. I want spellmaking.

  • RHZR

01:27 an Arrow in the Knee .if you know what i mean.

  • Amanda Neitzel

Have you seen eso-fallout and elder scrolls guide your doing 20 persent better then him

  • Finnian Quail

    Vanilla hardcore requiem, best mod

  • Dwayne Camacho

Last time I was this early, Lorkhan tricked the Aedra

  • Barrett Jordan

The Ordinator perk trees sound a lot like they're just work, especially for min-maxers

  • Frederik Centervall

are these updated to 64 bit for special edition

  • NoFranko

  • Frederik Centervall
